Wear your hair slicked back, but don’t look too perfect – you don’t want to be perceived as a „clean girl.“ Eat your greens, but be cool: smoke a cigarette or two. Don’t take up too much space – but don’t be shy; ask for a higher salary. Be yourself – but definitely buy that Tiffany Blue shirt. It’s so in style!

Made You Look! Following a Graffiti Artist for a Day.
The artist doesn´t hold back; they go straight to the wall, a clear vision already in their mind. No sketching, no hesitation. First come the so-called outlines – the lines that establish the shape of the letters. I am amazed by the ease of their hand as they paint the first brushstrokes on the wall in front of them. Right – a brush. I wonder why I expected them to reach for the spray can immediately. As you can tell, I know very little about graffiti. They are painting the name of my magazine: Der Faden. Graffiti has a reputation for being a fast art form, driven by its illegal nature. I catch myself wondering: How much work actually goes into a piece? And how technical is the art of graffiti?
